This Whimsical Spring Family Session felt like a dream. The sweet baby, lovely mother, gorgeous blossoms and family bond was all so wonderful. I had photographed my clients for their maternity session at this same location and we wanted to return for a full circle with little Posey. You can view their maternity session here.

Springtime in DC feels magical. I love all the cherry blossoms but the magnolia blooms have my heart. The DAR building so so grand with the marble columns and staircases. When the magnolias tree blooms it’s absolutely breathtaking. We started at the DAR and then walked across the street to Rawlins Park. It always feels like so much effort goes into family photography. You have to manage to get the whole family dressed and ready. In the spring I like to photograph at first light so it truly is a task for parents but it’s worth it every time, I promise. The city is so much quieter in the morning, there are less crowds, and the light is dreamy.
