The outdoor newborn session was so relaxed. This family walks through the Botanical Gardens almost everyday with their dog and now their baby has joined them. It felt special to document the places they enjoy in the city with their baby boy. Newborns love the outdoors -it always soothes them somehow- and he was so happy all throughout his session. We took a few in front of the gardens to include the Capitol and then went into the rose garden for a few with blooms.

We started their session at 7 am in hopes of cooler weather. DC is so hot during the summer and it was such a good decision for both mother and baby. We walked around the gardens and then drove over to their apartment just a few blocks away. They wanted to include their family dog during the photos at their home. The place you bring your baby home to is always special and I love that they chose two sentimental locations for their outdoor newborn session.
