The Franciscan Monastery is a hidden gem in DC. It is quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect location for family or outdoor newborn photos. The grounds are stunning -full of beautiful architecture, walking paths, and gardens. My favorite time to photograph here is around 4pm. The light turns golden on the buildings and it makes your portraits so flattering. One of the highlights during a session is visiting the little pond that is tucked away in the side garden. This is a wonderful way to get interactive photos with children as they look and point in wonder at the fish and water. They are open daily from 9am -5pm.
