These extended family portraits felt very special. The entire family flew into DC to support their sister who had a special ceremony at the Pentagon. It was rather last minute, but the Grandmother emailed me asking if I could take their extended family photos. I was delighted! I love the mix of formal photos alongside the candid of grandparents enjoying their family around them.

We met at sunrise near the Capitol at the Bartholdi Fountain. The Bartholdi is one of my favorite locations in all of DC. It’s on Capitol Hill but tucked away so it feels private and very quiet in the morning. The light is stunning at sunrise and the fountain has such lush fauna. The blooming lavender flowers gave it the perfect touch. Extended family portraits always feel like you are handing down heirlooms and memories to hold forever.
