This whimsical maternity session in DC felt like it was out of a fairytale. There is something so sweet about photographing a first baby bump. The new adventure together as a couple is so exciting and a little frighting but you are in it together. There is a deep love that you can tangibly feel during a maternity session if it’s a first baby or fifth.

For this whimsical maturity session in DC we started out at the Wisteria grove near the History Museum. The blooms were still in peak and it was the perfect backdrop. The mother chose a long dreamy dress that flowed perfectly and made for a soft and intimate feel. We then moved to the Bartholdi Fountain for gorgeous architecture and blooming Dogwood tree. The perfect evening spent together celebrating their baby arriving soon.
