I’ve recently had the nudge to take less photos on my phone and take more meaningful photos with my professional camera. There are multiple reasons that have led me here. I want to be more present with my children. So many times I have found myself so concerned about not missing the photo that I miss the moment. It makes so sad a mother! This is the first of my passion projects that document our everyday moments with a few extra details that make me happy. I hope you enjoy browsing this first session of baby in the kitchen sink.

When I get out my “big camera” it makes me slow down. I can’t take hundreds of photos a minute. I have to adjust for the lighting and make sure I get the correct focus. It forces me to be slow and present, two things my heart has desired for a very long time. I waited 13 years for our boys and I don’t want to miss the memories in the desire to document them.

When I put away my phone I get better photos. These images of my baby in the kitchen sink are priceless to me. We bath the boys every day and it ends up being the sweetest time together. We sing, play with toys in the water and lots of times I will read to them as they soak.
