These family photos at the Capitol may just be some favorites of mine! I love showing clients some of the most beautiful spots in DC. This family has a tradition of scheduling a photo session together when they travel to a new place. I just love that!

We started at the Supreme Court to capture the wonderful architecture and white marble. It fit so well with the classic DC and southern feel that they wanted to capture. We then walked across the street to the Capitol. This spot feels almost magical when the sun sets.

It was a bit windy and cold so we had the location to ourselves. When the sun sets behind the dome, it creates this soft and even light all around you making for stunning images. We finished their family photos at the Capitol and then ended their little tour at the Bartholdi Fountain. I always joke with my clients that they get a “tour of all my favorite spots” in DC. It’s such a joy to show visits my favorite city!
