Being a Washington DC Family Photographer allows me to meet the most wonderful families and photograph at lovely locations like the Capitol or the Botanic Gardens. This family session in DC offered both locations with a mix of architecture and beautiful gardens and greenery.

I had checked the weather multiple times the day of this session and it was calling for sunshine all evening. But as we walked up to the gardens it started to rain hard…and not just a few drops. The parents were so comfortable and just laughed, waiting under their umbrella until the rain passed. As a Washington DC Family Photographer I love when we can go to two locations to create variety for my client’s gallery.

We then walked across the street to a lovely spot that has an amazing view of the Capitol. I love the joy and playfulness in these images. Their little boy was sleeping when we started but he woke up for these and I love how he adores his parents.

These moments with your baby -especially in that first year- are so fleeting. I count it such an honor to photograph my DC clients and love it when they turn into friends.
