These Washington DC Family Photos were so full of personality and joy! Many clients express concerns when booking a session with multiple toddlers. Most kiddos from 2-5 years aren’t huge fans of sitting and posing for a long period of time. I look for locations that children can run and get some wiggles out during our time together. A garden or local park works great for this. The Botanical Gardens, Bishop’s Garden, or Lincoln Park are all wonderful locations in the DC area. There is always something to explore and you can do a lot of interactive poses together as a family.

Sometimes we get to the end of a session and an exhausted parent will ask me “Did we even get one good family shot?” Want to know a little secret? I love photographing toddlers even in the chaos! I know it can feel out of control when you are “in” the photos and trying to get your children to smile. But I promise if you as a parent lead them into a playful mindset, everyone can have fun.
