I had the privilege of walking through the Dumbarton Oaks gardens this spring. Two of my friends from Virginia drove into the city and we had such a lovely day together. Dumbarton Oaks is bathed in beauty and history. I’ve visited in multiple seasons but springtime is my favorite while the wisteria is in bloom. Lush vines cascade down the arches and trellises creating a dreamlike atmosphere. As you walk the grounds of Dumbarton Oaks, Georgetown DC you can spell the subtle scent in the air.

If you plan to visit, be sure to leave plenty of time to meander through all the gardens. There is a rose garden nestled beneath a wall close to the main house. Just stunning! You can also tour the home on the property which is expansive and lovely in design. I’m so grateful DC offers so many lovely gardens and green spaces to enjoy.
