The Benefits of Baby Wearing

There are so many adjustments to becoming a new parent. One of the hardest things for me was time management. Suddenly your day is full of feedings and snuggles but you still have the other every day tasks still to do. It was several weeks until I tried wrapping Robert but I was so glad I tried because we both love it! The Benefits of Baby Wearing are incredible and here are a few reasons why I love it so much.

Skin to Skin -having your baby close to you emulates skin to skin time. In the hospital Robert’s numbers were climbing too high so the one nurse told us to hold him skin to skin as long as we can before the next test in hopes we wouldn’t have to prick him again. He responded so well and his numbers dropped almost immediately.

Available hands -trying to accomplish my every day tasks became harder to do with a newborn and the constant care they need. Having him wrapped gave me free hands to finish the dishes and laundry as needed.

Longer naps -I noticed my baby’s naps became much longer. This makes sense because he is next to me and feels safe.

Easy to kiss -because I can never get enough snuggles with my baby.

Bonding if you can’t breastfeed -My son refused breast milk after two weeks and I really missed that special time with him! This allows us to stay close and it feels like we are getting that sweet time back.
