Motherhood is far from easy. It takes daily sacrifice of serving your family even when you feel uncomfortable (third trimester) or tired. I watch so many wonderful mothers guide their children in beautiful ways and I think it’s so important to step back and see who you are to them. It gives such perspective seeing yourself in a photograph surrounded by your family.

I had a vision for this session for some time now. I wanted you to be able to feel strongly a few words I have been pondering…soft, gentle, motherly and joy. Even in the winter month this session speaks warmth to me. The tones of the outfit, the location, and the gentle way the mother leads her children. I always have several favorite images from a session but my two from this one is the little boys laughing and the one of the little boy looking back at me while the others are looking away. He is the shyest of the crew and I adore he had the confidence to look at me on his own. That is my goal from a family session: to have all the adults and children at ease and feeling comfortable.
