This Washington DC family session felt so iconic to the city. I love when I can mix greenery with architecture to my client’s galleries. The side gardens on East Capitol Street by the Supreme Court are just lovely in the fall. It offers pretty plants, benches to pose on and a great view of the Library of Congress. We started in the gardens but then walked over to the Capitol to catch the last bit of light behind the dome. It’s my favorite time to photograph at that location.

I photographed this sweet family just a few months ago at their newborn session. It amazes me every time how fast babies grow. It’s exciting yet sad all at the same time. My client booked her session very last minute and it goes to show that you probably have incredible outfits already in your closet. I loved the colors she chose, so classic and also easy to add variety with a jacket or coat.
