It’s hard to believe I photographed this winter family session in November. It was such a beautiful and mild morning when I met the L family at the Supreme Court. We started out on the front steps -this time of year you can shoot at the Supreme Court and it’s still shaded until 10 am. The light is always so soft and flattering here in the morning because of all the natural white reflection from the white marble.

We then went up under the columns for those classic and iconic images that just say “you are in DC.” By this time the littlest was feeling chilly but we coaxed him to rally and we were able to grab a few more portraits in the side gardens on the East side. I hope you enjoy this winter family session in all the beautiful shades of blue.
