This DC newborn photo session felt like a dream with this little girl. She slept almost the entire time while I swaddled her and took all of her macro shots. She even stayed asleep when I unwrapped her to go outside for a few in front of my client’s home.

I adore photographing first time parents. They are in such awe of the new little human in their home and still getting used to being a family of three. They were so calm and gentle and I know she felt the energy and responded in kind.

I love when a DC newborn photo session takes place in a home. It makes each one unique and feel special. On cloudy days I do wish for a studio with lots of widow light but I think I’ll always enjoy your home the best. It gives a session a comfortable and casual feel. You have everything you might need for you and the baby at your fingertips. Most new parents are sleep deprived and getting into a new routine so staying home just feels like a hug.
