Washington DC Family Photographer

I have photographed this sweet family for years now and love being their Washington DC family photographer. Whey they asked if I minded if they brought the dogs along, I said “not at all.” I love how animals make family sessions feel more relaxed. This fall they chose Riverdale House as their location and I’m so glad they did. I love the historic home and the grounds surrounding it.

We stared at the back of the property on the porch steps as a more formal feel. Steps are a great option for posing multiple dogs and people because you can see everyone so well. We then moved into the small garden for a few in the last of the summer flowers. Little Rory loved the garden and squealed happily as she touched as many as possible. We ended the session at my favorite spot -the large willow tree at the bottom of the grassy hill. It’s so expensive and gorgeous in the evening light. Rory ran through the willows laughing as they caught her. I did this very thing as a child and it made me feel so sentimental.
