This DC fall family session felt so cozy. It was one of the first cooler days in October and they wore cozy knits and cardigans. I love the Bishop’s Garden in the fall. The light is so warm and golden as it filters into the garden. There are still a lot of flowers in bloom and the little fish pond is the perfect incentive for smaller children.

This age of a toddler (1-3 years old) can feel tricky to make them stay still for family portraits. For this DC fall family session, I suggested lots of movement for the parents. We let little Elliot run through the grass, look at the gold fish and play with Daddy. Making photos fun is key to having a happy toddler.
