This Family Session with Older Children felt really special. Sometimes teenage children get a bad reputation for being unkind or moody but not this family! Photos mean a lot to this mama and her boys indulged her so sweetly. They were so relaxed and comfortable together. They had gotten up early for their session so it could be cooler and so they could all attend the oldest brother’s race in the evening.

I love the National Cathedral for so many reasons. This location offers stunning architecture details and lush greenery. It’s the perfect neutral background for a family session with older children. We then walked around the building to the Bishop’s Garden for more portraits with a flowers and a blooming Crepe Myrtle tree.

Even if your kiddos are older, it’s so important to still get everyone together amidst crazy schedules and capture this season of your lives. This mother was so excited an already talking about ordering Christmas cards.
