A summer session in DC is such a good idea for so many reasons. I know it can feel very early to be thinking about holiday cards and gifts but this allows you so much time to plan and be intentional.

1. Children are out of school -this allows more flexibility with time without working around a school routine.
2. You can book in the early morning -kiddos are always happy in the morning and you can go out for breakfast or donuts after for more family memories and fun incentives.
3. Weather is warmer -it can get very chilly in October and November. I know the summers are hot here in DC but if you schedule your session early morning (7am-9am) or in the evening any time after 4pm, it’s still comfortable.
4. Lots of gardens and greenery -DC offers so many lovely gardens. Later November the greenery starts looks dry and brown but summers offer so much beauty. The Bishop’s Garden, the Botanical Gardens, the Bartholdi Fountain, and the Kennedy Center.
5. Time to order cards and gifts before the holidays -we’ve all been there late November, scrambling to order Christmas cards and grandparent gifts. Scheduling a summer session gives you so much time to plan. My mother loves a calendar with all her grandchildren and printed frames. You can even order an heirloom album for Grandparents to treasure for years to come.
