There is something so special about lifestyle winter newborn photography. When the world is damp and cold, watching a newborn enter brings such life and hope. It’s like sunshine after a week of rain. Most DC row homes are narrow and dark but this home had wonderful windows on both sides of the house.
Little Zara did wonderfully for her session. She slept peacefully and also opened her eyes for several photos. The perfect combination for a newborn gallery. I loved the basic white sheets that were on the bed. White bedding is so helpful when photographing newborns because they do not cause color cast on the baby’s skin.
I adore photographing first0-time parents. They are so in love and in awe of their little one. It’s such a miracle how two people can create something so wonderful together. If a baby stays calm during a newborn session I try to give my clients several poses: baby dressed in a cute outfit, baby in a white onesie, and several images with the newborn wrapped.
