We were delighted to hear the news from our neighbors that they we expecting a little girl. I knew instantly that she would be loved and cherished with every fiber of her being because her parents are incredible. Here is the meaning of her name:

Maia meanings from what we have found- In Maori it is “brave or confident warrior”. We pray that she may be a spiritual one. In Hebrew it means “close to God.” In Greek origin, “Mother.” And there is also a star named Maia, one of the “seven sisters” of Greek origin in the Pleiades, an open star cluster. Her middle name, Luz, is light in Spanish. My name, Nura, is Arabic for light, so we thought it would be meaningful for her to also have that essence transferred to her, especially also given the relationship to the stars.

We started the session with Maia’s portraits and then she needed to feed for a few minutes so I took the opportunity for them to just relax and snuggle. We then moved outside-it was the perfect summer afternoon. Several neighbors stopped by to chat while a lite breeze blew. It was perfect.
