I’m so grateful how beautiful things can come from hard places. I was struggling with feeling lonely in my business. It’s been a year of social-distancing and being an extrovert I was feeling it deeply. I desperately wanted a few friends/photographers to talk with. Just being in the same industry helps you feel connected and you “get” business struggles and together we can help each other grow and problem solve.
I followed Marie and Jessica for awhile and really admired their work and who they were as people…at least as much as you can know from Instagram. I worked up my courage and sent them both a direct message asking if they would want to “meet” once a month on Zoom to connect and keep each other accountable in our businesses. They both responded that they would love to and so it all began.
We met for several months on Zoom, chatting about photography, family, food and all things girly. I left every call feeling motivated, inspired and not so alone.
Once we were all vaccinated, we met up in person for the first time for the magnolia blooms at the Smithsonian. After lots of wonderful portraits we drove over to The Ministry for a face-to-face coffee chat. It was amazing! Community can truly refresh the soul and I’m so thankful for these two amazing ladies in my life.
