How to Propagate Pathos |simple project at home
I remember my Grandma Myers tending to her plants with such care and they would grown and blossom and I always thought how easy it looked. Well, until I tried it for myself I didn’t realize the time and diligence you have to spend to get a house full of lovely greens. But through Covid (good things can come from bad things) I have fallen in love with plants again. Mainly Pathos and Aloe plants. They are two I have found to grow without much work and they are so rewarding. The Aloe will grow babies so fast and then I transplant and pass them along to friends. It’s so fun!
The Pathos take a bit more time because you have to propagate them first. But it’s truly simple, you’ll see.
- First cut several vines right at the nodes.
- Choose a pot and fill it with water.
- Submerge the plants in water for a month until the roots grow. It’s good to replace the water every week because the plants need the oxygen in the fresh water to grow.
- Once they have rooted (1-2 months), plant into moist soil. Put 4-5 plan starters in each pot.
- Keep the soil moist for a month so the transition from water to soil isn’t too harsh on your new plants.

The kitchen island at the table. 
The side table of the guest room. These are just propagating for now and I will plant them later. 
The last spot I have a plant is on the bathroom counter.
