I saw Charix shoes from the window of a Turkish towel shop in Eastern Market. I walked into the shop and the owner was wearing a pair so I asked her about them. I never invest this much in my wardrobe but these felt worth the splurge. I was right! It took no time to “break then in.” I wore them all day while photographing a wedding and have worn them almost everyday since. I tagged the company on Instagram and the founder reached out to me, excited to tell me more about their passion for making shoes.

When I heard they offer incredible card to their employees: fair wage, safe transport to the factory and even meals for the employees. They are incredibly kind, good people and work from a heart of abundance. I visited their little shop in Adam’s Morgan in DC. Filled with ethically-made brands offering furniture, decor and clothing, Tribute is a charming shop.
