Hi friend! My name is Jessica, I am a family and portrait photographer based in Washington Dc. I am a Christian, wife, and identical twin. I love lilacs, candles, rainy days and honesty. I love finding joy in simple things.
Trader Joe’s Hair products: Shampoo, conditioner and hair serum. I recently bought the hair serum in hopes it would help some of my frizz. After just two times of using it, my hair has felt softer and less frizzy than before!
Mornings to savor: I’ve always been a morning person but with our kitchen now partly functional, it has made getting up so exciting! 🙂 The last week Daniel and I have gotten up before our alarms, wonder downstairs (he starts coffee and I brew my tea) and sit awhile before our day starts. We have one chair in the house so I sit cross-legged on the dinning room floor, no chairs or table yet, but I feel like a queen. It’s amazing the gratitude that comes with simple things when they are taken away for a time.
Roasted Broccoli: So I grew up boiling-not steaming, BOILING- our veggies and wondering why I hardly liked any. Recently I have roasted a lot of broccoli and it tastes like candy! I just love it; cauliflower, sweet potatoes, red peppers, summer squash…truly all vegetables are better this way.
Tea Kettle from Amazon: this is my latest purchase and it was worth every penny. I’m not sure why I waited to buy one when we will have our kitchen finished in just a few weeks (we’ve gone 6 months without a kitchen with our home remodel), but I know I’ll still use it in the future. I love you can fill it up with water the night before and come down in the morning, flip the switch and within a minute you have boiling water. It’s relatively small too so it doesn’t take up much counter space.
Eden and Vine magazine: A friend gifted me the first edition a few months ago and it blessed me SO much. It was encouraging, spoke Biblical truth, and was simply lovely. Also, it doesn’t have ONE add in the entire magazine. If you want some nourishment or looking for a gift for a friend, this is it!
I hope you enjoyed a few things I’ve been loving! If you have any must-have favorites that I should know about, feel free to leave them in the comments below.
