Once a summer, I take the children I nanny to Pennsylvania for the day to play at my Mom’s house. We left early in the morning, excitement was running high and we were prepared for the 2 hour trip with lots of snacks and our favorite audio books. (current favorite: The Long Winter) I just love how the children have room to run and let their imaginations soar. The little girls picked flowers and the boys climbed trees and tied each other with ropes. We had endless watermelon and dipped in the pool severals times. It was wonderful! There is something about the country life I love, the slow afternoons, barefoot running in soft grass, and the freedom to savor the simple moments.
