Each year I dread the floods of people that come to visit DC during the cherry blossoms. But each year, I’m amazed at how magical they make the city look. Branches hang low over the water, heavy with blossoms. The sidewalks are colored pink, and even local coffee shops and restaurants join in the festivities with “blossom” menues. They are truly lovely and make the perfect backdrop for photos!

I got a little nervous when Sarah asked about taking family photos down by the Tidal Basin on a Wednesday evening. Getting there can take awhile and there’s no guarantee you’ll find parking. But it all worked out and I was thrilled when me met up. I took one look at Sarah’s dress got super excited. A sweet little girl in crushed velvet, a long chiffon dress, cherry blossoms…needless to say, this may be one of my favorite sessions to date!
