Each spring I look forward to the Magnolia blossoms at the Smithsonian. There are so many trees, you can smell the scent in the air as you walk through the gardens. Just like anything else in DC, there are crowds. You have about 2 feet to walk around and this can be tricky when photographing families, but I feel like it’s worth is everytime.

Karla walked up to me with a smile and said they aren’t a very formal family and wanted photos of them interacting with lots of candid. So that’s what we did and I loved it! We got little sister’s teetering steps, brother’s shy personality (although when he told me his favorite animal was a lion and I asked him to give me a loud roar…he gave in and smiled afterwards), and the wonderful bond they have as a family.
