I had asked Rachel to go with me to the Business Boutique months beforehand and it somehow slipped up on us. When she text me two weeks before and asked if we were still going I said “Yes!” That led to a last minute scramble fore tickets and an AirB&B search.

We almost missed our flight out from Reagan due to chatting too much over coffee. We suddenly realized no one was around us and the flight attendant said the doors were closing. As we slipped into our seats Rachel whispered; “Let’s not tell our husbands about this.” 😉

After bumbling our way through Atlanta’s airport -which is huge by the way-we ended up at the car rental. And after asking three different places to rent a car and they were all sold out we started to feel desperate. The fourth place had one car left…a 300 Mercedes. We took it!

The Boutique was centered around teaching woman to grow the businesses they love. Running a business takes dreaming, working hard and lots of grit. I loved the verse Christy shared:

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

On the first intermission we had Christy sign our books and grabbed a few snacks. Then we drove to Pure -an amazing Mexican restaurant.

They had a “market place” set up where you could purchase from small successfully ran businesses started by women.

Several of the locals recommended Copper Coin for coffee. It was a cozy spot where we relaxed a bit before heading to the airport.

We laughed…A. Lot.

It had been years since I stayed up till 3 AM, and then attended a conference, AND had a late flight after that. But it was completely worth it to sit in a room full of thousands of woman with goals and dreams for their businesses; realizing we were all in this together.
