The chocolates are eaten, my flowers are wilting and the cards get thrown away.
(well maybe, I tend to be very sentimental until I go on one of my cleaning binges)
Does that mean Valentine’s day is over? Absolutely not!
Yes I love to get flowers and feel extra special for a day but this year I have been challenged to keep my love alive the other 364 days of the year. I don’t mean the days everything is going great and the sun is shining.
I mean those real, RAW days.
I have a pet peeve about making sure the dishwasher is completely full until I wash. I got home from work the other day and found Danny had done all my dishes-so sweet right?! Well, it wasn’t completely FULL.
I could hardly enjoy the blessing because I was letting MYSELF get in the way.
That’s what I long for! The same love that God shows toward us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
He knows our secrets, our struggles, and yes sometimes our simple annoyances; and loves us still. I want that not just for my husband, but also my friends and neighbors.
