The father and little girl welcomed me at the door. Amalea was so excited to be a big sister and couldn’t wait to show me little Asa. We walked up the stairs and as I entered the master bedroom I had to take a deep breath. Soft music was playing and I saw feet kicking happily in the basinet. Mother was still finishing getting dressed so I picked up the newborn to start his portraits firs.

The room was a natural-light photographer’s dream with the light walls, big windows and neutral furniture. Hazan and Amalea loved their little brother and cuddled him so gently. You can tell the way that they looked down at him that he was the most perfect little brother in the whole world.

Sometimes mothers worry about chipped toenails or other imperfections. But to tell you the truth, I love them and even keep a look out for these small details that tell your story. I loved “posed” photos but I treasure the natural moments. They are real and show your beautiful life just the way it is in a soft, organic way.
