I feel a bit guilty writing this post because I know how incredibly blessed I am. Christmas Day was filled with family, Mother’s cooking, Dad’s stories, lots of (loud) conversation and way too much homemade candy.
Sure, there were a few squabbles to settle, several children were sick, I forgot the apple cider, and the dog wanted to run through the family photos; but it was perfect. Growing up we weren’t allowed to open our eyes during prayer; but as Dad blessed the meal I looked around the table at every bowed head and felt overwhelmed with gratitude. Daniel squeezed my hand while I fought back tears for this…this, is my Peace on Earth.
A friend surprised us with gift bags full of our favorite things: fine tea, cute mugs, and homemade biscotti.
Sorry for the “horsey” laugh but she can make me laugh more than anyone in the world. The gut-laugh that starts deep down and leaves you exhausted and feeling ten years younger.
Grandma always gets the snuggles.
May you receive the wonderful gift of Jesus and the Hope He brings to all.
