Dorinda -Story of Motherhood

Today’s Story of Motherhood is another dear sister of mine. She has five children, helps on my Parent’s farm, and always seems to be doing a favor for someone. Enjoy her story and keep scrolling to the end, the last photo is my favorite!

  1. How has Motherhood changed you as a woman? Proverbs says a virtuous woman waits patiently. There is a lot of patience and waiting in being a mother.
  2. What is your full time occupation? Taking care of our home, children, helping my Dad with summer produce and volunteering at our children’s school.
  3. Tell us a little about your family. We have 5 children (ages 3.5-11). My husband and I were raised on a farm, and we also have several animals. I think children need animals to care for, to help them be more tenderhearted. Their eyes light up when they have a newborn animal. 2016-09-23_0004
  4. What is one tradition you were raised with? A good time to have your children tell you their troubles is when you work together.
  5. What are your “must-haves” as a Mom? I like a clean house. A clean house to my children is clothes in their drawer and food on the table.2016-09-23_0005
  6. What is something you are talented with or passionate about? I find a lot of children are hurting and need a stable family. We have the children’s friends over and give to needy children across the country.
  7. Any advice for new mothers? Spend individual time with your children.2016-09-23_0002
  8. What is a favorite past time you do with your children? We go to a nearby park and play together or ride bikes.
  9. What has motherhood taught you? When children are hardest to love, that’s when they need love the most!  2016-09-23_0003
  10. What is your favorite quote about Motherhood? “The best thing a father can do for his children is to love their Mother.” “In parenting, it’s the days that seem long but it’s the year that seem short.” 2016-09-23_0006
