Summer is here and life gets a bit crazy between work, summer holidays, and VBS at church.
As life has it some things tend to “take the back burner”. I hate to admit it, but some important things.
Recently a good friend of mine challenged me to a month of Bible reading together.
Being accountable made me dig deeper into The Word and I felt re-inspired. I also recently heard of a good way to study Scripture and I thought I would share it with the rest of you:
S-Scripture. First, you read a passage. You can read a few verses or a whole chapter and then write out a verse that stuck out to you. Writing something down helps me remember it so much better.
O-Observe. Take some time to think about what you are reading. If you pick a quiet place -without distractions-it helps to focus.
A-Application. Think of ways the verses you read applies to your life personally.
P-Prayer. Maybe I have always been too hurried, but I had never thought of writing out my prayers before. After some time it’s wonderful to go back and re-read your prayer requests and see what God has been doing in your life.
I hope sharing this will help you as others have helped me.
